Summary
Jayce sits up, ready to greet his partner with some quip about how much the party sucked, but the words die in his throat when he realizes that Viktor is not alone. He is—very much not alone. The low light from the lamppost spills inside and across two bodies. Hushed voices and a low laugh, the under-oiled creak of the door hinge as someone taller and broader than Viktor presses him up against the closing door, leans down and kisses him on the mouth.
Oh, Jayce thinks dumbly.
Or: A plumbing issue-turned-home-renovation leaves Jayce crashing on Viktor's couch for the foreseeable future. In that time, Jayce learns some new things about his partner. And his partner's various hobbies.

Summary
Saint Valentine's Day is fast approaching, those blushing twenty four hours when loving romance fills the air, and Piltover's premier Saturday Supplement has asked twelve Men of Science to pose for some racy - read scantily clad - photographs. These are to be published in their loved-up, February 14th edition.
Jayce is very keen for his partner to agree to take part, purely in the interests of science you understand, and has made it his mission to persuade him.
Being naturally curious, Jayce has been having thoughts about it, the sort of ones that keep him awake at night, and burn themselves into the backs of his eyeballs.
Totally normal, right? Right?
“Viktor! Viikkktttttoooorrrr!” Jayce is wheedling, he’s very aware of that, thank you very much, but c’mon – when is he going to get a chance like this again? “You know it’s for a good cause!”
“Why,” the slighter man begins, his torso resting against the desk, his legs carefully crossed at the ankles, and his long fingers interlaced on his flat belly, “would anyone want to see me, and I quote, ‘scantily clad, and doing science’? How exactly do I do this mysterious science?”

Summary
Viktor’s gaze flickers back to him as the waves break against the sand, white-edged and lazy. They look at each other, as if standing on two opposite sides of an ocean, and Jayce is just as tragic, just as beautiful as the shore is. Grey, and tired in that peculiar light; scared, undoubtedly, in some inexplicable way.
Viktor blinks and steps into the sun. He can feel it shine on his face.
“Will you tell me, now? About that nightmare?” he asks.
There’s a deep intake of air; a wide, bright spell stretching across the line where they stand. Two strides that feel like nothing—like the end of the world—before Jayce holds him. His hands come up, knuckles brushing against Viktor’s face. Wind and salt, and his heart caught halfway. A gasp that doesn’t spill.
“Jayce,” he says, and he does sound like he’s outrun a boat, an army, to make it here. It’s a prying open, spine and bones to reach for something Viktor never thought he would be asked to give. He whispers, “Jayce, what are you doing?”
Or - Jayce gets one more chance to fix it.

“Rough day?” Jayce heard a low but youthful-sounding voice to his right.
“More like a rough year,” Jayce muttered into his glass before finishing the last of his whiskey in one clean swallow.
He turned toward the speaker.
Sitting beside him was… a boy. If Jayce had to pick a single word to describe him, it would be angelic.
His gaze traveled upward, to the long, elegant neck adorned with a black ribbon choker, a delicate silver heart resting at the center. Jayce had several deeply inappropriate thoughts about that ribbon in under three seconds.
And then he reached the boy’s face. It was beautiful. Unfairly beautiful.
Full lips, slightly parted. A beauty mark above them. Another under one eye. And those eyes, sharp, bright, golden. They reminded him of Millie’s eyes.
No.
No, absolutely not.OR: Jayce receives an invitation to Vi and Caitlyn’s wedding. The night before the official dinner, in the dim light of the hotel bar, he meets a young man whose eyes stir something painfully familiar, someone from his past. Someone he knows he shouldn’t want, yet can’t bring himself to walk away from.
The first chapter is an introduction; the actual story starts in chapter two.
