A means to an end, and preferably one where she is satiated and her wallet remains untouched, Chaeryeong’s sweaty palms and overthinking notwithstanding. This could be good. Because if Ryujin isn’t putting too much thought into this, then Chaeryeong doesn’t have to be so—

“Why do you want to be kissed so badly?”
Chaeryeong can’t help the furrow in her eyebrows when Ryujin asks it like that. Like she wants Chaeryeong to open up when she’s closed shut herself. They’ve spent a lot of their youth in moving cars and waiting rooms and with each other, and the haziness of what’s supposed to be the most beautiful time of their lives has changed them, for better or for worse. Ryujin, the most of them all. All those years of Chaeryeong trying to come out of her shell only to have Ryujin grow one herself.
Chaeryeong figures some things out at the ripe old age of twenty-three.

Summary
Really, Chaeryeong thinks, making brief eye contact with the embarrassed-looking driver through the tinted window, they’ve got it all wrong. It wasn’t the lack of albums, or the sparse touring, or the mistimed hiatus that tore through the group in the end. Five members meant five different directions, after all, each with its own gravitational force of desire and need. Yuna refused to speak to Jisu for a week after she sat them all down and told them she was leaving ITZY for good. Yeji had been slated to debut as a soloist first, but was then passed over after longer complications with her injury. Ryujin got the better song, but in a stroke of random luck Yuna’s went so viral that it propelled her into stardom with the general public.

She’s wearing one of her favorite date sweaters for Christ’s sake. She’s wearing jeans in the comfort of her own home because she knows they make her ass look good. Why the hell is she so surprised that Yeji is flirting? Isn’t that the goal? Hasn’t she spent a concerning amount of her free time for the past few weeks thinking about how strong Yeji must be? Thinking about what it would be like to kiss her?
OR Jisu can't seem to stop running into her hot neighbor. Yeji can't help but be intrigued.
