Will raises his eyebrows. “Is that why you came in here?” he repeats, looking back down at the blue flannel. “To ask me about the weather in Lenora?”
“Kind of,” Mike says, and then, “well no, not about the weather specifically. I just– I wanted to talk to you.”
“Oh.” And Will looks a lot more surprised at this, actually, than the idea that Mike might have just wanted to come to his room to make small talk about unseasonably frigid California winters. “Okay. What about?”
“Anything.” The response is embarrassingly immediate. “Everything. I don’t know. I missed you.”
Hawkins, 1986. The world is ending, there are too many people in Mike's house, and to top it all off, he and Will have some things to talk through.

You’re difficult to be around, Kazuha thought, but he kept those words to himself and internally berated himself for so much as considering them.
Kazuha felt his smile was much more forced now. “Our partnership would be a lot easier if you did.”
In response to that, Scaramouche shifted into cat form with a poof, hopped up onto the side table, and swiped a paw at the lamp settled in the center. Kazuha watched blankly as it toppled to the floor and shattered, little shards of glass sent spinning across the floor.
Well. This was going to be a fun partnership.

or: Kazuha, a lone witch, accidentally ends up stuck with a familiar named Scaramouche. He’s not sure why exactly the angry little cat hates him so much, but considering they physically cannot leave each other, they’ll have to figure out how to get along eventually. (Even if it takes countless tears and shattered glasswares.)
