Dean sighs heavily and leans his weight on the edge of the counter. His eyes track the back and forth of a coffee stir-stick as one end is absentmindedly chewed. It’s weird that he’s kinda jealous of it – but not in the way that he himself wants to be chewed. He would give just about anything to be touching those lips. The very same set of lips that has distracted him for hours over the course of the last year since he got this job.

It was important, since he'd always been a man seeking sense and logic in the world around him.
Even if that world never seemed to try and understand him back.Ready to take the last step, Castiel is, however, very rudely interrupted by a drunkard.
Or so it seems.
Also, said drunkard (a handsome one, Castiel has to admit) keeps trying to invite him for coffee while insulting his fashion choices.Needless to say, tonight, Castiel understands the world even less than before.

Summary
One of the perks of Dean's job as a firefighter is being part of the annual first responders' calendar. It's a bigger perk than ever when he gets to know one of the other calendar models: Castiel, a detective who assists in fire investigations. Castiel has just moved into town in the aftermath of a messy breakup, and all he wants is to find some new friends and settle down in his new community. Despite a few hiccups at the start of the road, they begin to build a friendship that has the potential to grow into more.
But Castiel's past is about to come back to haunt him, and it’s going to do its best to try and stop Castiel from building the future he wants.

”Hello,” he says, at last.
”Hey,” Dean answers, cautiously.
”I was waiting for Mr. Winchester to introduce us, but the moment never arrived. It’s — It’s Mrs. Winchester, I presume?”
Dean places his elbow on the table and leans close to the man, smiling. ”Well, since I’m not married yet, it’s Miss Winchester to you.”

Summary
Castiel had always hoped he would be one of those lucky few who found their True Mate, so he was more than happy when he finally stumbled over that most wonderful scent. The problem was --- it did not come from his Mate but his Mate’s husband. Or was it?
Or: The one where Castiel thinks Dean and Sam are married and he would not possibly want to come between the happy couple. No matter how much it might break his heart.
