“What a pathetic little creature.” The Necromancer muttered to the injured bird, “You will soon be dead out here in the cold, you know?” Speaking the words was straining his throat but with how he was sure his body would tear itself apart soon enough he could care less about that.
He could put this miserable creature out of its pain, and spare himself some more moments of existence in the process too. He could do that. That would certainly be expected of him.

“Little mouse?” The Hunter called out from his place sat next to the window, expression one of surprise. “What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to speak with you.” He finally admits after a short pause, hands fiddling with his makeup case as he eyes a stain on the wall near Joseph’s head rather than keeping proper eye contact with him.
“You’re certainly brave to come all the way here for that,” The man mused, pink lips twisted into a slightly mocking smile. “Or perhaps, foolish would be the more appropriate term?”
“Perhaps,” Aesop concedes, finally drawing his eyes towards the other man’s. Bottomless blue stares back at him, endless and entrancing. “Do you reject my company?”
