In the wake of the loss of his daughter he tried--tried to do right by her. He became Iron Man, he was an Avenger, he protected his world because he couldn't protect his daughter, but through it all, he hoped to be reunited with his daughter.

Summary
It's only been a couple of months since the multiverse fiasco that completely changed Peter's life. He had to label it specifically as the multiverse one considering the amount of other fiascos that had also turned his life into complete mayhem, though the teenager was pretty sure this was the biggest mess so far.
After all, he was seventeen, broke, working two jobs on top of being Spider-Man, and he was alone. So, so alone. He'd given up trying to tell anyone from before about their lost memories. They didn't need him. MJ and Ned would be off to MIT in the fall and Happy would do just fine on his own.
Yeah... Peter didn't need to bring them back into any of this.

Summary
Peter hadn't quite gotten used to the bleakness yet, and he didn't want to. There was still hope after all. Even if he and Happy were the last New Yorkers left in a city of 8.4 million. There had to be other people alive, other groups of survivors across America, waiting for a cure. Because there had to be a way to more than survive this, even if the virus had wiped out the Avengers in a day...
He shook his head of the thought, squaring his shoulders and resuming his vigilant watch from atop the nondescript gray building he had called home the last couple of days. There was hope, and Peter would help the ragtag team that adopted him into their ranks to see it, even though he was sure they didn't see it like he did. There had to be hope after all. Humanity couldn't end because of one mistake. Aunt May couldn't be gone forever. Ned couldn't be a zombie without being allowed to have had a nerd-freak out over the whole thing. Mr. Stark couldn't be replaced by a husk of his former self.
AKA Our favorite ragtag group lives through the zombie apocalypse.

Penny had been invisible.
From as far back as she could remember up until her father had returned from Afghanistan, the girl had had no idea what it was like to be a part of a family. She'd had vague ideas, from the kids at pre-school and then at elementary school. Friends had talked about what they'd done with their parents over the weekend, often with a sibling or two attached. They'd talk about trips and games and, what had made her most jealous of all, birthday parties.
Penny hadn't really had birthdays. And especially not parties.
But, with Pepper pregnant and every moment being dedicated to the coming baby, Penny is really looking forward to this one day.

Summary
The blue and the red beams merged, a quick and fierce battle in which the blue won out. The red faded as the haunting blue struck out into the air and the ground, leeching around the team of heroes. It was quick, surrounding them and pulling them back until the team sat, trapped, in a bubble atop the fallen robot.
Over the angry outbursts of the team banging on the bubble's walls, there was laughter and the whine of repulsors. All heads, plus a blinking camera, turned towards the newcomer.Shiny silver metal glinted in the outlining light of the sun, slanted harsh blue slits and an equally shining circle glued to the chest. The trapped heroes glared venom at the descending billionaire, the faceplate receding into the crown piece that left his dark hair to beat in the wind. The disappearance of the faceplate exposed sharply white teeth, a smart and cocky grin wrinkling his face and highlighting bright blue eyes that practically glowed.
"Iron Man," the Sorcerer Supreme chorused, anger and disdain clear. The man's grin only grew wider.
AKA some reality bending renders the Avengers evil and fragmented as they fight to understand what's wrong and how to fix it

Summary
Soulmates are definite in the universe. Nobody knows exactly why they exist, or what dictates who is bonded to who, the only thing known is that they are never wrong. But Peter's not so sure about that.
Living at the group home had taught Peter a lot about laying low and how to stay alive when nobody cares. But he'd always clung to the hope of the shadow at his feet reflecting his soulmate that had watched over him for years.
Typical that his soulmate is actually a superhero that Peter is convinced shouldn't want anything to do with him. Maybe, just this once, the Universe was wrong.
But Tony Stark is desperate to prove that it is right.

Peter looked up at Ned's voice as they were hurried down the bustling halls of the end of a school day, readjusting his backpack and glancing away from his friend's worried face.
"I'm fine. Just a little tired," he responded. In truth, he was very tired.
Falling asleep had suddenly gotten a lot harder, leaving him tossing and turning in the itching and burning blankets of his bed. No matter how much tired irritation pulled at his eyes or weighed down on his limbs, he just couldn't seem to sleep. He wanted to say that it was unsolvable, that he had no clue why pleasant dreams or quiet, sleepless nights had evaded him--it would be less embarrassing that way--but Peter knew exactly why.

Peter nodded his head at the black car outside. Happy was easily visible as he finished up putting gas in the car and stepping into the driver's seat. The man nodded as he handed over a crumpled five dollar bill.
"Well, tell your dad he has good taste in drinks."
"Yeah, yeah. Thanks I--Wait what?" The man blinked. Peter glanced back at the window, dazed. His eyebrows raised, confused. "Oh, he's not--Happy's not my dad."
"Oh, I'm sorry then. Tell him he has good taste regardless."
Peter took a hesitant step towards the door, more than a little out of it. "Uh, sure. Yeah, yeah, I will."He didn't.
And things only got more confusing from then on out.

The small green car rumbled on the lonely, two-lane highway, bumping violently with every crack and jostling the occupants in the vehicle. Sam had originally swore at every dip that rattled the small space, but now his curses had petered out at the frequency of the potholes. Bucky usually sent a teasing smirk over to Sam every time they hit a particularly deep crack in the road. Penny had no reaction to anything around her, her hands placed carefully in her lap, EDITH heavy in her pocket, as she stared out the window, nothing but the occasional hum of prompted agreement leaving her lips.
It had been a week since Beck had revealed Penny as Spider-Woman and accused her of his own death to the rest of the world, and somehow she was still in shock. Maybe it was less shock of being outed and more the loss of seeing her family. She hadn't even gotten to say goodbye to May. Or Ned. The most Penny had been able to give her probably very anxious family, was a panicked "Stay safe!" shot MJ's way as she'd fled the street.

There were few things that Penny liked about her suit, being as unprofessional and uncool looking as it was, but she had to admit it was amazing at hiding her identity. The Daily Bugle had declared her as 'Spider-Man' when she'd first popped up a couple of months ago, and she didn't think she'd ever felt so relieved. Nothing would be worse than people realizing that the small time vigilante that patrolled all the way from Manhattan to the edge of Queens was actually Penelope Stark.
The worst person to realize would be her dad. To say that he was overprotective was a sever understatement. It wasn't like she could blame him--he was a superhero, it was kind of his job to be protective, and after everything that had happened over the years with Obadiah and Hammer and Loki and Killian and literally everything else, she got it. At least, she got it now.

"Watch out on your right."
Penny rolled her eyes at her dad's warning, swinging and avoiding the robot easily as it came up behind her. She grabbed it with a web, pulling it close and punching the thing into oblivion. She flipped and whooped as she did, much to Pops' dismay. Said man came tumbling by in his bright red and gold super suit, allowing for her to web to the suit and fling herself higher into the air and gain a better vantage point.
Her parents were usually pretty freaked out about her joining on missions, but it was something they were getting used to ever since she'd joined them in the fight that ended the Avengers. Of course, they hadn't known it was her at the time, but Pop had found out when she'd been knocked into those crates, after Dad had woken up from his spinal surgery, he'd been told too.
Needless to say they'd been freaked out, but honestly, everything had progressed relatively well. The teenager had a stronger relationship with her parents than ever, and though things had been a little broken since the Rogues had left, they were okay. They'd always been okay, and Pop had assured they always would be.

The rolling screech of the subway slowing down was familiar to Penny Parker. The low hum and slight whistle of it picking back up was familiar to Penny Parker. The cars always being full and overcrowded, especially during rush hour in the morning, that was familiar to Penny Parker, and it was a small relief in a world that recently hadn't been.
It had been...it had been a rough six weeks. Rough, awkward, and everything washed with a dull gray that had made life feel like a dull painting. Everything had been like that since May had died two months ago. It had been Penny's fault, just like how Ben had been her fault too. It had to be, because otherwise it didn't make sense. Why would she lose so many people if she hadn't done something to deserve it?
It had been just after Mr. Stark--Tony, as he was trying fruitlessly to get her to call him--had taken the suit back, just after she'd fucked up and nearly cost more lives than she already had.

The princess stepped onto the balcony, unable to sleep and overlooking her kingdom from the tip of the tallest tower. Her light blue nightgown swished behind her as she leaned on the intricate stone railing, a rattled, bored sigh escaping the girl. Princess Michelle was bored a lot. Duke Ross had provided her with tutors and plenty of meaningless tasks to try and keep her busy, but the girl knew he was keeping what she really should be learning. She should be learning to be queen, not how to crochet.
But the Duke had always been like that, she supposed. Ever since her parents had died so long ago. He had sat her down the night the news had broke, not to comfort her, but to lay down rules.
One: Do not leave the castle.
Two: Do not question his decisions (they're in her best interest).
Three: Never interact with a member of the Avengers.
She was about to break all of them.

The bell rang as Tony walked through the door, the tiny charm familiar and bringing him a mouth watering sensation. He'd basically Pavloved himself with this burger store, which had kept the same greeting bell for more than three decades.
Garcia's Burgers was a favorite of his, both for its amazing food and its amazing discreteness. It was one place the press had yet to find he frequented, and he put a lot of care into making sure that it was upkept. Hence why the car he'd driven in wasn't fancy or expensive by any means, and the clothes he wore were as basic and un-Tony Stark-like as you could get.
However, they were unable to keep the chaos that ensued from happening. On the plus side, he gained a new intern.

She couldn't think about the building she'd been over, she couldn't think about how her pitiful suit had been more or less destroyed, falling in tatters off of her, and she couldn't think about how afraid she was. She couldn't think. She had to act.
Spider-Woman shivered as her spidey sense trembled up her spine. She glanced up at where Adrian was glaring into the sky, her eyes widening as she made out a ripple in the air. The StarkJet.

His glasses blocked the bright New York summer sun that bounced and glared off the windows of buildings and nearby cars. Heat passed through the crowd like a dusty wind, hanging onto him and letting go just as quickly as a new wave took its place. He licked his lips at the heat, hoping that whatever Penny's trip through the city had planned was prepared for a water break.
"So, where to, kid?" he asked, throwing his own wrapper in a trashcan, though he begrudgingly admitted that it was much less cool than the kid's shot, "'Cause I don't know if it can surpass the best sandwich in Queens."
Penny rolled her eyes, leading him forward, "Just you wait, I have a whole day planned!!"
But nothing ever did go as planned.
