    He’s seen him, been there by his side as he lies on the ground, blacked out, dangling on a thin tightrope between life and death. He’s pried away his strong fingers from his neck, kissed him like it was the only thing keeping the both of them alive. Kissed him because it was the only thing keeping them alive.
    But it was never enough.
    So Ness remains silent, remains blinded in the ignorance he created for himself to continue loving Kaiser wholly again, and breathes in the cold gray air.
