Xiao has spent so much time alone. For hundreds of years, he protected Liyue alone after the other guardian yakshas either died or disappeared over time, and never even cared if the humans thanked him or not. Even once he started to stay at Wangshu Inn and spent more hours than he would care to admit clearing the area of monsters under the effect of his own karma he still just wanted to spend his time alone. No one seemed to care either way if he spent time with them or hid in his room.
