There’s something else in the words, even Suho knows that. He isn’t just talking about the rain; he’s talking about Suho. For so long, Sieun has watched Suho from afar, then from his side. He’s had Suho there, enjoyed watching him grow; but he hasn’t had Suho, at least not to himself, not to call his own.
The silence crackles loudly; nothing but the sound of rain against the ground, the patter of droplets against the jacket above their heads.
For the first time in probably his whole life, Suho’s mouth remains closed— he doesn’t reply. Weird, Sieun thinks. He waits a few beats, before peering up at Suho; his gaze is different, the emotion behind his eyes new, unreadable. Suho licks his lips gently, moves to speak.
“The rain will fall even if we’re standing in it, Sieun-ah.”
A windbreaker isn't the best umbrella, but it'll have to do.

Sieun didn’t want to look. He didn’t mean to look. He just had to, though, just. Well, what if? Just in case? Suho was mid-laugh, rolling his eyes like it was no big deal. “If you insist!”
“Come on,” someone whined.
And then, he did it. Tugged up his sleeve. Right arm. Right forearm.
Sieun saw it before his brain caught up. Curved in the same way his mom used to trace it when she still liked Sieun enough to be affectionate. The same scar as Sieun’s.
Or the one where Suho suggests they go on dates for a week to find out if being soulmates is enough to make them work.

Suho grins. “I never said I didn’t like it.” He fondly brushes his fingers through Sieun’s bangs, fixing the messiness of it after his nap. “And I never knew that you’re this sweet when you’re sleeping.”
Suho discovers that Sieun’s really clingy when he’s asleep. But perhaps, he’s already known for a while.
