Dustin pushed harder, hand hitting his chest weakly. “Let go!” He cried hoarsely, tears streaming down his pale face.
“Hold him down!” Steve snapped at the others. Lucas hurriedly pinned one of Dustin’s legs, Mike holding the other. Robin held Dustin’s arm, clenching it firmly against her chest to stop his movement.
“Let—let go!” Dustin was sobbing hysterically, it hurt, but it was the extreme adrenaline pumping through his body that had him freaking out. He was terrified.

“I heard you weren’t at school this week,” Dustin said brightly. “So I figured you weren’t feeling well, which makes sense seeing as how you got the shit kicked out of you. So then I figured you’d probably want some company– and I figured we could watch a movie together, so I brought these!” And he held up a stack of rented VHS tapes. “Star Wars!”
“You’ve been doing a lot of figuring, Henderson,” Steve said, voice wry but not harsh. He was touched.

After the end of Season 2, Dustin convinces Steve to watch Star Wars with him. Their friendship only deepens from there. This is an exploration of the changing relationship between Dustin and Steve through the years as shown through eight films they watch (or attempt to watch) together. Spans the entire series, ending post season 5.

Summary
When Steve pulls to a stop five minutes later, the teen realizes they’re parked in front of Dustin’s house. He whips his head around to look at Steve. He can’t walk into his own house right now and leave Steve behind him in the truck, cannot let him drive away out of his sight. Steve is already looking at him, some kind of internal battle warring on his features. Dustin’s throat closes up. He can’t speak, can only shake his head and look imploringly at Steve. Relief floods Steve’s face, and it unlocks Dustin’s tongue.
“Take me home,” Dustin says.
Steve breathes out a shaky, “yeah, okay,” as he puts the truck in drive and takes the familiar route to Steve’s house.

Or, in the aftermath of the battle with Vecna, Dustin and Steve refuse to part from each other, choosing to recover from the wounds of battle together.
