Summary

A dramatic recounting of the story of the Blight as experienced by a pair of French soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division. Jean-Lucien Dufort is a neurotic officer, eager to prove himself due to his rising of the ranks quite early for his age. Nestor Le Sueur is his foil, a rather petulant rifleman with little to loose and a mouth that will only trouble him. By the Grace of God, they will prevail, but not without incessant loss and self-discovery that only being broken down to your core can achieve. The ability to perceiver in the face of insurmountable odds is the way of the Blight, and they will be tested.
It is up to whatever God brought this upon them if they survive.
