The tension begins early when Júlia ignites the court with her fierce Brazilian energy, celebrating every point right at the net, a display that the stoic Ekaterina interprets as a direct, disrespectful insult. Kate responds with cold stare-downs that sets a dangerous tone for the rest of the night. In the final set they reach a 14-14 score, where a chaotic struggle at the net causes physical contact and snaps the final thread of both of their patience. A mix of English, Italian, and Portuguese insults are traded through the mesh as Júlia steps directly up into Kate’s space and Kate refuses to back down an inch. The referee is forced to physically break them apart, flashing double yellow cards to a roaring crowd.
