Naoto stretched his arms, picking up his half-empty mug of coffee. He sipped the warm liquid, thinking hard about what he just said. It's rare for him to accept jobs, even private requests such as this one. It was a selfish one indeed but he couldn't turn it down since that person already helped him a lot in the past. He would feel bad if he chose not to do it.
“ Urgh, why does it have to be a foreign country…” Naoto mumbled.
It was a rare case, maybe a first for Naoto since his recent debut as a detective. Very, very expensive and rare paintings were stolen in the span of two weeks. The security cameras couldn't catch the culprits since they found a way to hack the system, shutting down all alarms and footage from inside the gallery. It's very odd. Do people still do this in this era? Who was the culprit, and even so, what was their motive? To sell it? To keep it as a trophy? He didn’t know.

Nobody knew what or how they triggered his memory but soon after that, he didn’t remember anything. At first, they thought he was just forgetful. It started when he forgets about things he did in the past. Then, things that he placed. Later, it was places, names, and faces. At one point he even asked his parents who they were.

It was Toji who saw him lurking right in front of the alcoholic beverages area, staring so intently at it as if his life were to flash right before his eyes. He was on his way to buy a couple of takoyaki at the convenience store when he saw it happening.
Toji stared at him for a while, amused by him. Once in a while, he would look around restlessly as his hand firmly gripped on the handle. Toji was amused at this kid. He never saw someone so worried to buy a couple of drinks.
“ Must be his first time.” Toji chuckled.
Getou murmured complaints as his head was spinning at all the choices of beer and other foreign alcoholic drinks right in front of him. He was baffled. There were beer brands that he knows for sure and some that he has never heard of.
“ Satoru, you idiot. I know this is just one of your stupid impulses but…. Oh my God, this is so stupid.”
