Harry wouldn't ignore him, something was wrong and he wouldn't back off until Harry himself told him that's what was happening. That he was abandoned.
Even if Harry would abandon Ron he wouldn't do the same to Hermione.
Ron was going to steal that car and Fred and George couldn't stop him.

Hermione is worried about Ron. Harry is worried about Ron. Hermione and Harry get together and decide "fuck Ron's being angsty we should pose an intervention and talk to his family"
In which Harry and 'Mione realize Ron needs help even though he refuses to get it, so they take it upon themselves. Ron's family gets a reality check about their youngest boy and Ron faces himself.
