The unnatural shifts in his words and the variations in pitch being just ever so slightly off putting. Borderline uncanny, yet everyone who’s heard it knows there’s a human behind that voice. A man who choses to blow a hole through someone’s skull without so much of an afterthought.
Though, no one had ever heard that voice scream.
Not until tonight.
Or, Red Hood is captured, Nightwing saves him and while helping him afterwards, puts the wrong puzzle pieces together and confronts him which does not go quite how he planned.

I stare at Bruce incredulously, body shaking with rage. Does he even hear himself? The silence stretches and trembles between us.

“What. Do you mean when you say fair?”, I try to breathe steadily, I tap my fingers against my gun holsters to ground myself.
“Fair, like. Fair like when a person in power decides what would be best for everyone and everyone has to listen? Or do you mean fair like when we all agree to turn our heads because that’s just the way things are? Do you mean fair like when we show understanding and patience again and again no matter how often someone proves they don’t deserve that trust? Or do you mean fair like. Like when a family member is called to the witness stand and they’re expected to spit upon their brother, or father, or son.”
Bruce grimaces further.

He opens his eyes, and stares up at the canopy of the four poster bed he's in. It takes a second, his vision is a bit blurry, but it clears up quick enough.

Part of Jason keeps the count going, while the rest of him kind of just...seizes. Because he knows this canopy. He knows the the posts it's attached to. He—fuck—he knows the notch in the bottom left post he'd put in it when he'd stolen one of Bruce's batarangs when he was twelve and thrown it around like the stupid kid he'd been.
This was Jason's room.
Or, the one where Jason gets zapped with magic, wakes up in his teenage body, and decides to let the timeline know exactly how fucked it is. He also becomes the president of the Tim Drake Appreciation Club.

He finds himself trying to put as much distance from him and the border and is now entering a small town called Gravity Falls in middle of cold dead of winter Oregon.
What will happen when his twin brother happens to be at the store he's trying to shoplift from? What happens when he offers to let him stay at his house? And what happens when he happens to be a bit too much like his old man.
Angst. Depictions of sexual abuse, drug abuse, child abuse (3 for one packet basically) Also a lot of spiraling and withdraw symptoms.

It’s funny, he muses, how he used to blame his eyes for everything. A childhood spent squinting at the chalkboard, his small frame perched at the front of the classroom, desperately trying to make out the shapes of letters and numbers scrawled in thick white strokes. He’d narrow his gaze, focusing with all the intensity a child could muster, but the board remained a vague haze of incomprehensible scribbles. His teacher—a kind woman with a soft, patient voice—was no clearer. Her features would blur at the edges, melding into the backdrop of the classroom, a smudge of colour and motion that he could never quite pin down.
