Yeji stared out the window. Despite the darkness, her eyes zeroed in on the shaky figure of the woman who stumbled over herself, weary on the long drawn out pathway.
The smell of blood was strong.
She turned her head slowly as she peered out the heavy dawning and ignored the sight of the woman collapsing right on the doorsteps of her estate.
"Pity..." the words clicked out of her mouth.

Max blankly blinked at her once, twice. "What?"
Chloe uncrossed her arms and it was then when Max noticed what was in her hand. A pastel blue envelope, THE pastel blue envelope. "I think it's cool that you feel the safest when I'm holding your hand and honestly, it's the cutest shit. But Rachel and I just broke up, you know that. It'd be hella weird if..." Chloe's voice started fading out of Max's head as she tried to thoroughly scan the envelope with Chloe's name written on it.
Please don't be the 7th grade letter. Please don't be the 7th grade letter. Max kept chanting nervously in her head.
There was a Sailor Moon sticker on the envelope... from the set she owned in 7th grade. Something in Max's stomach turned upside down. Out of the three letters, fate really chose to give Chloe the cheesiest and easiest letter to misinterpret first.
