Ed meets Stede at Lucius' Christmas party. Ed finds he's very fucking into Stede. Also that he's very fucking annoyed Lucius didn't think to introduce them sooner. Like maybe before Stede got a boyfriend. It's rare for Ed to feel the sting of rejection which is maybe why he agrees to take Stede's number "as friends". Ed's optimistic though- just because your first interaction with a guy is you trying to get into his pants and him being oblivious to that doesn't mean you haven't got a solid foundation for friendship, right?
