In between mumbles and soft prayers, he decorated the body of the creature, soft tears falling from his eyes.

Chan heard the small words, spoken between hiccups as his body was touched in ways no one had ever. It was the ghost of a caress, the small, delicate fingers smoothing any knots the wind made on his fur.
The human touching him was intentional, careful, meticulous. All things Chan hadn’t been when he got hurt.
Chan wasn’t suicidal, and his intention had been to go back to his pack. His family. But, as he lays in the patch of grass, being prepared for death, he thinks that maybe, he shouldn’t. That he should devour this fawn, sinful and holy all in one and be deemed a murderer as long as he can make him his.
