about hurt, light and shadows, and the soul crashing yearn for belonging. this has made me reflect so much on how i view every media i consume, every character i love, how for so long i looked for myself in fiction while also being so hard on parts of myself that i usually have love and empathy for when directed at the outside world. i too want to live, even if i have no idea how to do that yet. thank you and i will remember this for a long time

Summary
The surface of Earth is uninhabitable, humanity has retreated to independent city-states in the sky, and poverty is rampant in the city-state of Hwaseong. But for a chance at a better life, 99 male contestants can compete in an annual game of survival. The nine winners will be granted a portion of the significant pool of prize money. The rest will perish within the brutal grounds of the arena, located amongst the ruins of Seoul.
