Summary
"Dennis," Robby said, leaning back in his chair, crossing one leg over the other. "This position is for an administrative assistant. Answering phones, sorting mail, replying to tedious emails from medical boards and publishers. Why is a qualified veterinarian applying for a job that requires zero scientific background?"
The question was direct, almost sharp. Dennis felt his throat tighten. He could lie and say he wanted a career change, but looking into his piercing eyes, he knew the doctor would see right through it. Dennis natural honesty took over.
"Because I'm desperate, sir," Dennis said softly, looking down at his hands before forcing himself to look back up. "I've been to every clinic in the area. No one is hiring new graduates without years of experience. My rent is due in a week, my family is struggling back home, and I... I just really need to work. I know it’s not what I went to school for, but I promise you, I am organized, I learn quickly, and I will take care of your schedule as if it were my own."
Or
Dennis is kind of desperate to get a job, and Robby is just too tired to be picky about who he is hiring.

I can't ignore it forever.
The layer of dirt under my nails is hard to remove, like a second skin that i can't deny, but that doesn't belong to me. Lord, why do you put me in this place?
Where do i belong?
Anywhere but here. There is no place in this earth for a person like me.
