His eyelids fluttered shut for a split second at the dangerous way she cooed his birth name. "Are you implying that my work is not always exceptional?"
"No, it is. But I need you to do even better than that." She moved her foot around his neck and took in a deep breath of the humid air before diverting from her formerly sweet tone. "Get on your knees."

Summary

He's the same old Childe Ajax Tartaglia she remembers... attractive, smart, and incredibly infuriating. The very same man who knows every little thing about her, how to push her buttons, get a rise out of her, and possibly, just possibly... make her fall for him again.

Lumine was quite used to her body undergoing changes to acclimatize to whichever world her and Aether landed on– from growing body hair to the point of a soft fur, to a thin layer of scales covering their skins to withstand constant heat.
She'd thought she'd be spared of this in Teyvat. But without her twin by her side, and the lonelyness in her heart driving her deeper and deeper into the eleventh Harbinger's arms during the months that were meant to be nothing but a "little vacation", there were two things she could no longer deny: A creeping vulnerability to her soul, and her body.
Concerning– at least the latter– for someone who spent their days fighting foe upon foe.
Or: Childe falling head over heels for an emotionally unavailable astral being
(re-written and continued version of "A not-so-fleeting desire", not abandoned but Author is focusing on other projects until spring time)
