Sure, he’d had a solid three-step plan- step one, bring Todoroki strawberry milk randomly at some point because it’s his favorite drink(don’t be a creep about it), step two: when he’s happily drinking said strawberry milk entice him into a date by promising to make him soba, step three: wow him with the best date ever and snatch up the man of Denki’s dreams -but, again, he had expected to be let down. To be told, ‘I appreciate the offer but no thank you’, because Todoroki would absolutely be nice about saying no to him.
So when Todoroki looks at him with his signature blank stare and says yes, Denki blue screens a little bit.

For obvious reasons, Katsuki doesn’t expect his phone to ring at two in the morning the night before his wedding. For equally obvious reasons, otherwise known as his future husband, it kind of tracks.
“Hey,” says Eijirou’s concerned voice. “Sorry to, uh, wake you, bro, but—I think your soon-to-be wife misses you.”
It’s—well. It started as a dumb joke. Just—Katsuki calling Shouto his wife because he is, in general, wife-shaped. Soft and cuddly and the one person that makes coming home worth it. Even if, when pressed for an answer, Katsuki could probably frankly admit that home isn’t as much a specific place as it is like, whatever Shouto happens to be sitting on that permits Katsuki to smush his face against the endless softness of Shouto’s thighs.
Or: Shouto misses Katsuki the night before their wedding day, so obviously Katsuki princess carries him home.
