“Hey, hey, hey—can I see your ID real quick, bud?”
The new customer starts, turning to Mac. He looks like he’s in his twenties, skinny, minimal threat—code green, Mac thinks—with blue eyes and curling brown hair. Despite the hippy vibe the kid is trying to go for, his fingernails are manicured neat, Mac sees, when he hands over a Pennsylvania drivers license. Mac bends the ID in the light, looks for the tell-tale signs of a fake, doesn’t find any for Dennis Reynolds, DOB 1997, a Leo. If Mac had been out in his twenties, Dennis might have been his type, he thinks.
Trouble, Charlie once told Mac when he was high out of his mind on Krylon paint, always walks in on a great set of legs.

Dennis Reynolds shows up at Paddy's one night to sabotage Frank's investment in the bar. Too bad for him; Mac has twenty-some years on the little shit and knows well enough that life doesn't always go your way.

Summary
Part 1 (Previously called Bodies Lie And Tend To Break)
(follows directly after s12e10)Dennis is beyond done with the gang thanks to Mac blowing up his car, so he goes up to North Dakota to live a new life. The life he deserves. A loving wife, a beautiful child, and the world at his fingertips. That means actually working and living in the suburbs and being quietly domestic, which is of course everything Dennis hates. So he does what he does best, he schemes.
Erstwhile, the gang are forced to move on, each struggling or succeeding to do so in their own ways. This comes to a head when the gang receive news that Dennis has been killed in a police investigation. The circumstances of his death, however, arises more questions than answers, particularly when Mac discovers that Dennis isn’t dead at all.
(So I guess this is a Vampire AU Crossover that nobody asked for? Note that you don't have to have watched Fargo to understand what's happening. Although it's highly recommended because Fargo is an A+ show and stars both Glennis and Rob!)

“You don’t... scare me.” Mac breathes, nostrils flaring with the severity of the untruth. He’s fucking terrified.
The vampire takes a final step forward, so close now that Mac can hear the unnaturally slow rhythm of its undead heart and feel the iciness of the gaze upon him like a tangible frost. Doe-like brown eyes widened with fear greet soulless blue oceans.
Amused by his answer perhaps, the vampire grins- properly, for the first time, revealing gleaming white teeth and the unmistakeable points of razor-sharp fangs.
“Oh, but I should.”
OR
Dennis is a Vampire. Mac is a Vampire Hunter. Predictably horny chaos ensues.

After one incident too many of Mac thinking Dennis wanted to kiss him, Dennis decides that something needs to be done. Unfortunately for Dennis' delicate state of denial, betrayal, and dissatisfaction at Mac's current role in his life, that something, ends up changing everything.
Featuring: my favourite trope of all time, deep, penetrating looks at the dysfunction that is Dennis Reynolds, and enough hot gay sex to steam up a whole YMCA.
