Summary
Dazai remembers his Port Mafia days as clear as day, unfortunately. Though, there was always a certain memory of a boy his age who he’d drink with. The other didn’t drink – not to the intensity of Dazai, at least, but he still stuck around. They used to listen to each other rant: whether it was about school, work, life, the news, etc. They always knew how to strike up a conversation; however, those memories are blurry now. He can’t remember the face or good looks of the man he had called a friend for a year every midnight.
Recently, though, Ranpo has seemed more on his case than usual – the same goes with Kunikida. Had Dazai seemed sad on the anniversary of the first friend he had that was actually his age? No one could’ve known… No one. He was too good at keeping up his façade for anyone to be able to see how human he truly was. Everyone, except the smartest person in the room and the ex-partner the man had called. -
