Dour and sour and disgusted with his very being, he grumbles, “I didn’t invite you.”
Apparently unbothered, John’s smirk flickers brighter. Playful and dry, he says, “I know.”

“Oh my god,” Whitaker whines. It’s not clear whether it’s in response to the question or the twist of Robby’s hand, slick with pre-come and spit. Surgical, Robby reminds himself. Basic biological facts.
“Doggy style?” Robby asks.
Whitaker chokes. “I don’t think that’s what people call it anymore.”
“Oh, that’s not what young adults call it anymore?”
“Please stop talking.”

Mulish, Whitaker shakes his head.
Robby talks Whitaker through a problem.
