Summary
Then he laughs. It’s cold and humorless and muddled with tears. But he laughs and he can’t stop. Grace just watches him, continuing to hold his hand in her own. He finally stops, wiping tears from the corners of his eyes.
“We’re a fucking mess, aren’t we?”
Grace smiles sadly at him.
“No fucking question,” She brings his uninjured palm to her lips and presses a gentle kiss to it, “but I’ll clean you up if you do the same for me.” -

Summary
There were times he thought the darkness would never leave. Nights where he wanted to drink until he didn’t know his own name. Days where he wanted to yell at every happy person he saw on the street, jealous of their smiles and their laughter. He would have let those days consume him, if it wasn’t for her. She was there to pull him out, to help him clean up the empty bottles and force him to shower. As stupid and cheesy as it sounds, she was his saving Grace, and he was hers.

You know, if Ryan knew Mikey had ulterior motives when he told him about the job opening at the bakery-cafe-thing across the street from the CVS where he worked, he never would have applied. That’s a lie, really, because he loves his coworkers, but somehow playing the middleman in the most ridiculous mutual pining he’d ever seen over the past five months has been, frankly, the worst.
