He has never been a fan of changes. He is a hockey player, you crafted your routine carefully to aid in the great pursuit of winning, so when the lines change for a couple of games... it was brief, but the damage was done, and his mind had started to trail off in a pain yet familiar route.
Having his skate push away from his body wasn't new, what was new was Wilson's body under his waist, and- nothing. The white welcome him with cold and pain.
He woke up to a dark room, and a body next to him. His captain greet him with a small smile. Fingers brushing his curls out of his forehead before tracing the tape that kept the gauze on his temple.
