“I thought I made my stance on lying clear,” he added softly. He felt Katsuki’s shudder by proxy of the energy wrapped around him and held his breath for a moment. “Do I need to remind my Kacchan what the consequences are for lying to me?”
Katsuki made a sound then, so soft it was barely audible, but Izuku heard it, he felt it standing so close. He allowed Katsuki time to find his voice again, to use his words as he was expected to.
“Yes,” he managed finally, just an exhalation, not even a sound. “Yes, I need you… to remind me…”

He’s smiling. It’s not vicious, not victorious, it’s just there. It’s barely even there against his lips, it’s more in his eyes, in the tilt of his head, in the curves of his body as he reclines back and absently kicks his feet in the water.
“You’re so devoted to each other it makes my heart skip,” he murmurs, almost wistful, but when he meets my eyes there’s no pain there, no jealousy, nothing negative at all. Just pensive, just… on the edge of some sort of epiphany. “What do you love about him, Bakugou? The first thing that comes to mind, the one that immediately overwhelms the senses when I ask?”
They've met a few times since Wild Horses now, and the three of them decide to try a different kind of play.

Everyone, including Bakugou, stares at him in shock. Belatedly, Shouto lifts a finger to his mouth.
"But it's a secret," he adds. "Shhh."

After the two of them are spotted at a Valentine's Day hero convention while on a mission, Shouto gets the brilliant (and extremely bad) idea to pretend he and Bakugou are there on a date together. It's brilliant because it's the perfect cover story.
It's bad because he's desperately in love with Bakugou, and Bakugou has no idea.
