Jet sneers, hand tightening against the bottle of antiseptic they had picked up. “What the hell were you thinking, Ghoul?”
He leans back against the booth, glaring out the window. The sun always sets fast this time of year, casting the desert in a dull purple as the last licks of light dim over the horizon. “I dunno. Mostly, ‘Hey, this mission needs to be done. Let me do my fucking job’,” he bites back.
Jet’s nose wrinkles with distaste at that, brows furrowing deeper. They rap their knuckles against the back of his wrist to get him to pull the rag back and apply the antiseptic, earning a hiss from Ghoul as it bubbles against his flesh. They chew on their words before their expression softens a fraction, dissolving from anger into something closer to hurt. “You sound like Party,” they mutter.
