So, the inspiration for this story pretty much came from Phuwin's most recent live. You know, when he said,
"โฟ้ดก็อยู่คอนโดโฟ้ดสิครับ อันนี้คอนโดผม จะให้โฟ้ดมานอนคอนโดผมทุกวันไม่ได้นะคุณ ให้เขากลับไปใช้ชีวิตของเขาบ้างเหอะ"
(Fourth has his own condo, doesn’t he? This is my place. You can’t expect him to sleep at my condo every day. Let him go back and live his own life too.)
Translation: Fourth probably caught Pond and Phuwin getting it on. He might need some serious therapy, but now he totally gets why Phuwin was bugging him to go back to his own place.

While they are similar, they are also complete opposites. Pond is applauded, despite having several controversies in his career, he is loved by everyone, with his striking style of play and his face on the biggest sports brands in the world. For Phuwin, one disastrous match is enough for the Internet to bombard him with hate comments, and it is difficult for him to continue playing tennis as a professional when there is so much pressure around him.
When fate brings them together, an exciting atmosphere of rivalry is created between them, and no matter how much Phuwin tries to stop it, the connection between them grows stronger.

Summary
This story is a character study focused on Phuwin. I've played with a non-linear timeline to look at all the important stuff that happened during and after Never Let Me Go. Everything you recognize—the names and actual events—are real, but the way I've told the story, especially the thing that finally made his feelings for Pond clear, is my own fictional take.
As you probably noticed, the title comes from Harry Styles' “Golden.” The line, “I know that you're scared because I'm so open,” perfectly encapsulates the essence of this fiction. It speaks to Phuwin's feelings for Pond and the significant impact Pond has had on him.

“Okay,” Fourth pauses for a long moment and then his eyes go sharp and determined, “I’ve got a good one. Never have I ever… had sex!”
He looks pleased with himself, if a bit shy. Phuwin feels himself flush and considers just lying. But, well, he’d told Gemini before and he’s pretty sure he’ll call him out for it, drunk as he is. Everyone else dutifully drinks, and then Fourth realizes that Phuwin hasn’t lifted his cup.
“Hey, drink dude,” he says, pointing at Phuwin and making him blush more.
“No, no,” Gemini shakes his head exaggeratedly. “You only drink if you’ve had sex. You haven’t either, right Phuwin?”
Or: Fourth and Phuwin make a pact to lose their virginity before Phuwin's 20th birthday. It goes about as well as you'd expect.
