South Korea has the 12th highest suicide rate in the world, and it is the leading cause of death for those aged 10-39. The male suicide rate is twice as high. Poor social support, high educational pressure, and loss are particular risk factors.

    All signs point to the odds never being in his favour.

    Still, approximately seven months into Suho’s coma, Sieun realises something that has always been true. Of all the ways a person can die, he was always meant to die by suicide.
