Summary
Phainon collapses into her, letting her fully hold his weight. It startles Aglaea sometimes, how much Phainon trusts her. She’s not used to it; the others trust her, in their own way, but Phainon’s loyalty is unquestioning.
If she were a better person, that kind of devotion would concern her. She would want something more rational, like Tribbie’s measured trust or Mydei’s acceptance of what’s necessary.
Selfishly, she wants Phainon, falling to pieces in her arms, relying on her for everything, unable to even think about betraying her.
