    “Can I ask another question, Geralt?”

    “It’s not like I can stop you, now can I?” He scowled at the floor, he knew better than to try to dam up the flood of thoughts and questions that always poured out of Jaskier. He’d learned that the hard way a long time ago.

    There was a very silent but hard to miss roll of Jaskier’s eyes when he asked, “Are you a man?”

    He bristled at the question, at the word, at the implication in both directions that he was a man and that he also wasn’t one.

    “Witchers are men,” is how he replied. Simple, succinct, the answer he had been given himself his entire, long life.

    “I didn’t ask about witchers, love, I asked about you.”

    “I’m a witcher.”
