Summary
His quills stand on edge at the sight of a feral grin that doesn’t quite reach Sonic’s eyes, feeding off of adrenaline and excitement, almost taunting in its wake as he flings himself into another fight.
He should hate it. But he doesn’t. It makes him feel alive. More than anything else. The wind in his quills and the burn in his lungs on late night races where everything simply fades away until it is just the two of them left. He clings onto this feeling, reveling every time Sonic’s eyes linger on his form for a second too long. Neither care to mention it. Or maybe Sonic doesn’t even realize that he does it.
There was no use in running from the fastest thing alive. That doesn’t stop Shadow from trying.
