Summary
The Emperor of Yi Ti doesn’t just want power—he wants legacy. In the East, magic born to an imperial child is a sign of the Mandate of Heaven: divine right to rule, blessed by the gods. And he has that sign—his daughter, Princess Ruyan, the first spiritwalker born to the imperial line in generations.
But that is not enough.
He wants the magic to pass through the male line. In Yi Ti, incest of first degree is forbidden. The Targaryen path is closed. So he looks west.
Two bloodlines still carry the old magic: Dayne and Stark. Ruyan is sent to secure the wolf-blood. Her mission: forge an alliance, birth a daughter with spirit-walking and Northern gifts, and return that child to the imperial line.

Summary

His vows have been tested three times before. This is his fourth and final test and, after nearly eighty years of being a bystander at the Wall whilst his family destroyed themselves, Aemon decides that enough is enough. Daenerys took a breath, and asked the question that had plagued her ever since leaving King’s Landing. “Your brother, the king, only lost his betrothed, and he hates me. Eddard Stark lost over half his family because of mine, and yet he will welcome me as his kin?” Her voice rose at the last, as she was no longer able to hide her disbelief, her fear.
“Ned Stark is a man of honor,” Stannis said. “He has no interest in avenging his family by tormenting you.” Unlike the king, neither of them said aloud.

The Rebellion concludes with Aegon Targaryen as King with Elia ruling a regency.
But years following the Rebellion, in Essos, a sleeping dragon begins to stir.
Not a red dragon, however.
