The last time they kissed was almost more than a year ago.
It wasn’t as William and Est, but as Thame and Po. Regardless of the fact that it was after P’Mui called cut and that it was William who chased after Est’s lips for one last kiss of closure, he was still deep in his Thame mindset.
He was still stuck in Thame’s desperation and desire for Po. Emotionally, he was still strung up on abandonment and the whiplash of getting Po back. The final kiss wasn’t for the show, but for the Thame that lived inside of William. He nipped at Est’s lips and hoped that Est understood that it wasn’t him. The smile he got in return then told him that Est understood and reciprocated.
They hadn’t kissed since.
They had no reason to.
William wanted to find reasons. Even if it was built on a lie about Thame or a joke about needing a review, he wanted to find a convincing reason just to kiss Est again.
