Summary
Only one person can be president of the student council. Normally Haruka would be her confident self, secure in her inevitable victory, but well, this time it isn’t quite as inevitable as she’d have liked. She’d bribed Ami into giving her the results. A tie is no victory. So here they are in a hallway, all alone, after they’d both volunteered to tidy up, and all Haruka has to do is convince Michiru to fold.

Summary
Ostensibly, they were here to talk about Sailor business away from prying ears. The excuse wears thin when neither of them are in a hurry to talk about it. The guise of romance was supposed to be just that—a convenient mask to hide behind, nothing more. Anything real was a risk. Something that could cloud their vision. Ruin the urgent purpose they had taken up the mantles of Neptune and Uranus for. Maybe even die.
The promises Michiru Kaiou and Haruka Tenoh break to reach the point we see them in canon.
