Alastor, still with his apron tied over his clothes, gestured with a ladle at the bubbling pot of sauce on his stovetop. “I figured you both earned a little reward for all your hard work lately! So, dinner’s on me.”

Alastor finds himself wanting some company one night, so he summons Niffty and Husk to have dinner with him. But not because he's lonely. Don't be ridiculous.

“Alastor!” he repeated, doffing his hat and dipping in an extravagant bow. He straightened back up and summoned his staff into his hand with a snap of his fingers. “A bard like you’ve never seen before! I’ve been traveling through the rings of Wrath for sometime but came back to visit my roots after hearing talk of this place.”
“You’ve heard talk of this place?” the innkeeper asked, visibly brightening up for the first time. “Really?”
Husk watched Alastor’s grin sharpen as he took in the young woman’s hopeful face. He’d never said dick to either Husk or Niffty about their next destination when questioned. All the answer either of them had received had been a secretive smile and Alastor promising them their prospects were looking to be very entertaining.
