He fucked up, there's no way in hell Hyunjin keeps this a secret. No way this doesn’t come back to bite him. His parents will find out. They’ll be furious. He’s ruined everything. When Jeongin returns to the library, his steps are hesitant. Hyunjin is seated again, flipping idly through a book like nothing happened. He looks up when Jeongin enters.
"I didn't mean to scare you," Hyunjin says quietly. He stands, and makes his way in front of Jeongin once more, His hand lifts, thumb brushing gently under Jeongin’s eye, wiping away a tear Jeongin hadn’t even noticed falling. "I won't tell anyone," he whispers.
"I'm a beta…" Jeongin tries weakly, "I swear to you…I am."
"You're not." Hyunjin smiles, "But you want people to think you are, and I will respect that, okay?"

Jeongin has lived his entire life wrapped up in a lie of his parents design, a carefully constructed and long term solution to their biggest failure; that is until Hwang Hyunjin shows up in his life, and starts peeling away at the slowly lifting edges.

Tangible, confusing, real and raw, and painfully beautiful. A deep dive into a broken heart and repressed spirit, however strange that may sound. I think a lot of people that are far, far removed from the situation Jeongin is in will still feel like they see themselves on some level in the way he tries to navigate an impossible situation.

“Not in so many words,” Seungmin explains. “But it’s—god, you didn’t even read it back?”
“I was scared to,” he admits. “I’m in love with you?”
