    Summary

“I would have done it alone,” Reinhard whispered once, after he had crawled into Kircheis’s bed without asking, simply telling Kircheis to move over, so they could whisper more easily to each other in the dark. They laid facing each other, Reinhard’s fingers loosely curled around Kircheis’s wrist. “I hadn’t had a friend before, and it hadn’t bothered me.”

    “Reinhard…”

“But it’s better that you’re here, Kircheis,” Reinhard continued. I missed you, Reinhard didn’t say, but Kircheis could imagine he heard it. It had been little more than a month, that they were apart. And Kircheis had missed him too. “I’d rather have a friend with me.”

    Summary

From Iron Dreams Press this Spring - A New, Complete Edition of Nat Rome's alternate history epic, A Wheel Inside A Wheel!

In our world, three and a half centuries ago, two young men, Reinhard von Musel and Yang Wen-li, grew up to become Kaiser Reinhard von Lohengramm, the founder of the Neue Reich, and Fleet Admiral Yang, the greatest commander to have ever lived, and the last, great hope for the Free Planets Alliance.

But in a different lifetime, at age sixteen, Yang Wen-li was forced to flee his father's debts and hide as an outcast in enemy territory, under an assumed false name: Hank von Leigh.

And in a different world, at age ten, Reinhard von Musel and his family became political refugees-- running to the FPA to escape his sister's promised servitude to the Kaiser.

Although Reinhard and Yang have traded places in history, neither of them can escape their destiny: to become the forces that shape the future of the galaxy.

Nat Rome's sweeping saga, A Wheel Inside a Wheel, is a magnetic, operatic, and unforgettable journey through a world that might-have-been, realized with an unprecedented depth and clarity of vision.
