Summary
James’s latest prank was utterly brilliant - on paper. Every time Snivellus walked past a portrait, the man, woman, or creature painted on the canvas, was supposed to start singing a ballad on Sirius’s alleged sex life.
However, while every single portrait occupant did agree to participate, each of them decided to take creative liberties with the lyrics. And somehow, they all ended up glorifying Black.
What escaped James, blinded as he was by his own genius, was that Sirius wasn’t the only Black in the castle. -

Harry Potter is going through an existential crisis, whilst Dumbledore keeps showing him memories about a young evil and murderous Tom Riddle, threatening and killing people, all Harry can think about is “I see why he had such a huge follow, I too wish he’d crack me open.”
You can understand, being his mortal enemy this is not good for Harry’s sanity. -
