“Enough!” he barked. “It’s been, what, a minute? And you’re already taking the piss! What did I do? Tell me—what exactly did I do, sir?”

“Would you like the list read aloud or written on parchment?”

“Oh, come on!” Harry’s voice cracked. “I dragged you to St Mungo’s, helped Professor McGonagall restore Dumbledore’s portrait, spent two bloody weeks giving testimony before the Wizengamot until my throat was raw from that sodding Veritaserum, and you—”

At ‘sodding Veritaserum’, Snape was suddenly looming over him like a hawk, something dangerous flashing behind narrowed eyes.

"And am I expected to prostrate myself at your feet in gratitude, Potter? Shall I lick your heroic little boots?"

“This isn’t about heroics!” Harry shot back. “You talk to me like I’m some child—can you at least, for one bloody second—?”

A cold nudge at his ankle cut him short. Glancing down in horror, Harry found the pointed toe of Snape’s polished shoe brushing against the shorter of his mismatched socks.

“Shall we begin with the right or the left?” Snape spat. “Your preference?”

Harry recoiled as though confronted by a bloody boggart.

When Roy Mustang went to retrieve his eyesight from Truth, he wasn’t expecting to end up doing a job in exchange. It couldn’t even be an easy job, of course, because Edward’s assessment of Truth was a pretty accurate one.

    Summary

There he was: sitting splay-legged on the altar, one muddy combat boot propped up on the edge, with a self-satisfied grin on his face and a relaxed aura, in spite of the war raging outside.

Izuku wasn’t sure what he’d expected to see his first day evacuating humans from the Rapture zone, but it sure as hell wasn’t a Demon with the same goal.

A story about falling, in more ways than one.

    Summary

There’s no regret tainting Yuuji’s voice when he says, “Satoru kissed me.”

He sounds quietly happy when he compresses days’ worth of flesh hunger into a few words. And he seems genuinely apologetic when he turns around and looks Satoru right in the eye to say, “This is pretty weird, isn’t it? Sorry, Gojou-sensei.”

Yuuji, Satoru realizes, has a peculiar way of hiding his pain.

He thinks of this boy in that crematorium in Sendai, carefully picking up his grandfather’s bones with a strong, dry gaze. The lack of grief was not for a lack of love; even Satoru could tell that much. He figured out a while later, watching Yuuji grin wide while his newly regrown heart thumped in his chest, that the lack of pain wasn’t a lack at all. It was just tucked away quietly somewhere Satoru couldn’t see or reach.

It’s strange to look at Yuuji’s awkward smile and know with bone-deep certainty that the seventeen-year-old ghost who sunk his teeth into his heart is now one such quiet grief.

Satoru navigates the aftermath of an accidental de-aging incident that led to his own teen self romancing and bedding his favorite student. Meanwhile, October 31st creeps closer.

    Summary

“Father, not again,” Jihoon is scoffing, as he does every year.

“Yes, Jihoon, again,” Father sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. They’ve had this argument four years in a row now. Junhui is fairly sure that even Jihoon’s eventual coronation won’t put an end to it; Junhui will be hearing this argument until one of them dies. “We’ve been over this, the Games are tradition–”

“Times are changing! I will not be given away like a trophy to the strongest caveman of an alpha to show up–”

“For god’s sake, Jihoon, nobody’s forcing you to get married, I would never–”

“Then why are we holding the Games? Why not just call it a regular tournament? Why parade us around like prized peacocks?”

(Junhui buries his nose in his book, trying desperately to seem like he hasn’t been listening.)

Prince Junhui doesn't know it, but this year's Alpha Games are going to change his life.
