“Can I ehm… drop by? Like now?” Kuko sniffled.
Was he crying?
“Is everything alright? Where are you now?” Jyushi’s protectiveness kicked in, already standing up from his chair.
“No, no Jyushi.” Kuko said as he heard footsteps through the phone speaker, “It’s fine. I’m already at your door.”
Between the outside gloominess of grey skies and autumn leaves Kuko was indeed standing on Jyushi’s front porch, phone in hand while face hidden below the fabric of a black hoodie, refusing to look upwards.
