Summary
Kaz swallowed, observing the unmistakable enthusiasm that had illuminated her eyes. She seemed brighter, somehow, like her damned saints had reached down from wherever they resided and set her alight. For a moment Kaz had the sudden, irrational fear that the security guard upstairs would catch sight of the strange rush of sunlight arising from the otherwise darkened floor and return to investigate.
