Chuuya was three sketches in, facades pinned neatly on the felt board, when a voice ghosts up behind his ear.
“Your balcony lines are crying for help.”
He turns. Tall, loose-shouldered, sleeves rolled, tie loose. The kind of tidy that looks like it wants to fail. There’s a grin that says he’s already won something.
“And you are?”
“Dazai Osamu,” he replies, like the name should carry gravity. “Also on this entry. Which makes me your partner, chibi.”
“What the hell did you just call me?!”

chuuya didn’t ask for a partner, especially not dazai. but work makes them share too many late nights, until rivalry morphs into routine, and routine slips into something harder to name.

“Jinko.” Akutagawa’s voice was sharp at his shoulder, sleeve tugging him back toward the cart. “Focus. We have things to get.”
“Right, right,” Atsushi said quickly, though his eyes had already snagged on a sign above a stack of long green vegetables. Zucchini, it said. On sale. Four dollars per kilo.
Atsushi blinked at the pile. Picked one up. Stared at its curve for a moment too long.
Which was exactly when Akutagawa finally tracked him down again, face set in irritation. “What are you–”
Atsushi held up the zucchini, eyes wide with earnest innocence.
“It kind of looks like yours.”

atsushi and akutagawa go on a simple grocery run, nothing that could possibly go wrong. except everything goes wrong: accidental PDA, inappropriate jokes in the most public of places, and one too many moments that make akutagawa wish he could crawl into the floor… or throttle his boyfriend.

“Hey… want to hear some corny Excel pickup lines?”
That made Akutagawa look up. Her grey eyes flicked to her, flat as ever, but the pause was just long enough to feel like permission.
“So,” Atsushi said quickly, cheeks hot, “if you were an Excel function, you’d be a SUM, because somehow, you make everything add up.”
Silence.
Akutagawa’s fingers stilled on the keyboard. Slowly, painfully slowly, she turned her head, grey eyes fixing on Atsushi like she was staring at an equation that had personally offended her.

under yokohama consulting’s roof, the ADA and PM divisions are meant to collaborate. in practice, it means atsushi and akutagawa clash in every boardroom.
but late nights, endless spreadsheets, and one too many joint projects blur the line between competition and something more.

Chuuya froze. Then, slowly, his glare sharpened. “Why the hell is he here?”
Dazai tilted his head, smug as ever. “Chibikko, how mean! I was invited~"
“The hell you were!”
Atsushi winced, holding the popcorn bowl like a flimsy shield. “Chuuya-san, you remember what happened last time we watched horror. You got so scared, you almost brought the whole place down with your ability. So, um–” he gestured weakly toward Dazai, “Dazai-san’s here as a failsafe.”
“A failsafe?” Chuuya repeated, incredulous. “That’s your excuse?”
“Exactly.” Dazai stretched out, propping his feet on the coffee table like he owned it. “Think of me as disaster insurance. You panic, I keep the apartment standing.”
“You're the disaster!” Chuuya barked.

regular movie nights at chuuya’s place ft. shin soukoku, however, this time it’s atsushi’s turn to pick (of course he picked horror). he also brought dazai along as a “failsafe.” chaos ensues.
