"Buck? You in there?"
Eddie walks in cautiously, mindful of the danger that could be waiting inside but unwilling to just call in the cops and wait until they show up. So he sidesteps the tipped over dining chairs, avoids the shards of glass scattered on the floor, and moves deeper into the apartment, checking in the bathroom and behind the kitchen island before peeking into the living room. When he finds nothing downstairs, he makes his way up to the loft, back pressed against the wall as he moves.
No sign of Buck upstairs, either.
With his heart beating wildly, Eddie reaches for his radio.
"Cap, we have a problem."

Summary
Maddie didn’t kill Doug in the woods when he attacked her. Instead, he was arrested and sent to prison for life. The same prison the 118 are called into to deal with the riot fires in s05e06 Brawl in Cell Block 9-1-1.
Buck doesn’t get a good look at the second escapee in the ambulance until it’s far too late.
