    Summary

The cult of the Absolute has been destroyed. The city of Baldur's Gate moves on, and Freedom and Astarion have found a home together. Determined to find a way to free Astarion from the curse of his vampirism, the couple must contend with both the practical aspects of a puzzle nobody has bothered to attempt for centuries as well as with their own personal ghosts.

    Summary

Marcus holds the goblet up, still stinking with klauthgrass, and ponders them, clutched in the wretched claws of his undead monsters. "Well," he says, and smiles. "If you will not willingly drink it, I have a manner of encouragement."

And then he raises his dagger, pricks his own wrist until scarlet pools over his pale skin, and lets blood drip into the goblet.

Before he can help it, Astarion stiffens.

Astarion has spent two hundred years with truth as a bitter enemy. Fitting, then, that his choice to say it is taken from him.

Wyll, Karlach, and Lae’zel speak with a Gur monster hunter in a bog and Astarion happens to be there. It’s a very awkward way to get outted as a vampire to your (mostly) unsuspecting teammates. AKA: Tav-less Act 1 party jumps the team rogue and holds him down for questioning. It's fine.

    Summary

“-With each piece of this prophecy, I feel my heart leave me, torn asunder, and replaced with a divine rage. The Gods, living and dead, have failed us."

The slow descent of a scholar and artist.

Lilliandra knows there's something wrong with her. Between memory-like nightmares that aren't hers to occasional hallucinations of light, she tries her best at feigning normalcy in Summerset society while juggling a Thalmor mother's insistence that she's special ― her destiny bound to the cosmos ― and her own darker interests in magical research.

When she finds a Black Book, a new kind of freedom is offered to her. And an unlikely alliance is made, one where both parties feel inexplicably compelled towards the other.

    Summary

"First," said Gale. "Do not kill any thinking creatures in Waterdeep unless you must to protect yourself or you have my express permission."

As Gale spoke, he could feel the weight of his words sinking into the person sitting across from him. It was like casting a spell, but took no effort. Astarion had been staring hollowly into his goblet of blood, but at this he made a faintly interested noise. As if the rule were novel and he was considering the shape of it.

"Second, you will obey me in all things," said Gale. There didn't feel like there was any honest way of softening that. Astarion didn't make any sound at all.

"Third, do not leave the tower without permission." Astarion made another speculative noise, considering this one too. But then his shoulders hunched and his eyes skittered down, as if he didn't want to look at what was about to happen.

"Fourth," Gale said, and paused. He started with some context: "There is a tressym upstairs."

Astarion's head twitched. He looked up at Gale, blinking, startled. He had the air of someone who had been bracing for a blow and instead had just been handed a balloon animal.

    "A what?" he asked.
