Light-bringing Apollo, the sun god-king, lounged on his gold throne woven with fragile bronze laurel branches in his hall of warped windows and vine writhed mirrors. Far-seeing Apollo, sun god-king, was so very, very, very, time infinite bored.
Pleasure-seeking Dionysus rubbed into the sucking soil and thrust at the sky. The sky gave him no pleasure, which was fickle of the sky, but there it was. Goat-slaying Dionysus was bored. Bored. Bored. Bored. Random number. Bored.
Suffice to say order-wielding Apollo in his clock work court of hours and seasons and years suffered from ennui. Suffice to say, chaos-creating Dionysus in his fields and vines and drunken debauch suffered from the same.
The story of how some new celebration came into the world.

“Welcome home!” Apollo threw his arms out as he lead his brothers into their new living room. Their not so glorious or godly living room. “It is… small,” Dionysus commented. He didn’t feel the need to hide his scepticism. “It is authentic,” Apollo explained. “If we are going to pretend to be mortals, we need to live like mortals. We couldn’t very well get a penthouse apartment, now could we?” “Why not?” Hermes asked as he closed the door to the apartment behind them. “I have a penthouse in Chicago. It is nice.”

He makes a noise between a grunt and a groan in an attempt to convey his displeasure at being disturbed just as he was about to make the challenging journey to an upright state, and feels sand being kicked over his butt. It gets right into all the crevices, and he can tell it was done in an actively malicious fit of pique. He tries to roll over twice before meeting with sweet, sweet success and cracking open his eyes.
“You’re trespassing, demigod.” From what Percy can see, he’s staring at someone in his late teens or early twenties. The sun is setting, and the sky is an orange tableau, framing a muscular blonde man wearing only a chlamys, clasped together over his right shoulder with a lyre pin.
Or, Percy, amnesiac extraordinaire, washes up on the shores of Delos.
