Summary
The Zombie Apocalypse AU no one asked for.
It was The Walking Dead rules. Buck wouldn’t know, he’d never watched the show, but Chim had. A person dies, they come back, it doesn't matter how. By the time Buck knew about it, the phenomenon had been happening for almost a day. Bites were death sentences. The illness that wrecked the city for a week before things fell apart was a culprit.
Buck and Eddie are separated when the zombie apocalypse begins. Life turns into a pursuit of getting to Eddie and Christopher. He acquires a couple of children along the way.
They are very, very lucky.

I don't know what that was. I don't know what this is. This was written as a reactionary post the night of the finale. An ending that I had in my mind for a few years now, that's adjusted as time has gone by, written hastily and with exhaustion on tumblr under a read more that I just don't want to lose quite yet. Alright. So it took pirates and way too many years for Steve and Danny to get their crap together and actually be together. But they are. Things are good. Danny's family is coming to the island for a visit, he's got a clean bill of health, he's going back to work for the first time after being kidnapped, Jack's adoption is less than a week away... Life is good, but it's about to start up again. Five days. Five days until Jack's adoption and everything that can go wrong will go wrong. But they've got this, right?

It almost seems natural that after you’ve had your ass kicked, pistol whipped, knocked unconscious for God knows how long, that when you come to and your partner is half past insane with worry and panic for him to be grabbing you by your shirt and hauling you up into a kiss.
