“What?” Eddie asks, narrowing his eyes as Bill takes his glasses off the table and slides them back on. “What’s that look? Why are you making that face?”
Shrugging, Bill pulls his manuscript in front of him, flipping through the first few pages. “It’s nothing. Just, y-you know. You two.”
“Who?”
“You and Richie.”
Eddie bristles. “What about us?”
“You’re p-practically m-married.”
His immediate reaction is to roll his eyes and protest; it’s not the first time he’s heard this. Morons have been suggesting they date each other since high school. Middle school, maybe. “It’s not like that,” he says, snagging his pen from Bill’s grasp and clipping the cap back on. “That’s weird.”

Aziraphale watches Crowley dance around his flat, drunk on good wine and freedom, and cannot help but be drawn to the way he moves, so fluid and graceful and entirely unselfconscious. He’s so beautiful with his fiery hair in the setting sun and his burning, wild eyes. Utterly breathtaking. The image of the lithe demon enjoying his body so confidently reminds him of how little he has to offer the person he craves to be close to more than he’s ever wanted anything in his entire existence. The cutting remarks spoken from smiling lips in heaven sting sharply as he remembers all of his failings as an angel. He feels very small suddenly. Crowley‘s sulfur-yellow eyes flare hotly.

Summary
In five years, Eugene had run over this exact scene in his mind too many times to count. Sometimes, he’d yell. He’d curse him out, hit him if he was feeling particularly pissed off that day. Try and get it through his thick, mad skull that waking up alone on that train was the final nail in a coffin that Eugene had taken too long to claw out of. Other times, Eugene imagined embracing him, breathing in the familiar smell of sweat and gun oil as he silently forgave him for it all.
